Originally opening its doors in 1977, the once state-of-the-art shopping centre was modernised in 2016 as part of a $670 million makeover, increasing the total retail space to 150,000 square metres.

Electrical work was undertaken across five stages, in line with the redevelopment, which involved preparing the existing centre for demolition before work could commence on the new site.

We started by preparing power and lighting to ensure selected shops could be safely demolished, while also installing reticulation to allow some shops to continue trading during works.

As new shops were constructed, we completed power, submains, switchboards, reticulation of cabling and all lighting. We also fitted out all new infrastructure with emergency lighting, before testing and certifying for occupancy.

It was then time for us to work on lighting and power for both FOH and BOH areas, preparing them for final use. We tested and certified every electrical element of this project, as well as completing all maintenance right up to handover.

Since opening to the public in 2016, Pacific Fair has enhanced tourism on the Gold Coast while also offering locals a world-class shopping experience. Resort-style landscaping and breathtaking water features connect more than 400 places to eat, drink, shop and play.
